Amrit Udyan at Hengrabari, Guwahati

Background:

Govt. of Assam had decided to develop a recreational park for the citizens of Guwahati in the unutilized plot of Assam Khadi & Village Industries Board (AK&VIB) measuring around 14 bighas of land situated at Hengrabari through GMDA. Accordingly Govt. had accorded Administrative Approval for ₹ 14.81 Crores for the work of “Development of a Park at the site of AK &VIB Hengrabari”. It was planned to develop the park in a pure natural ambience because of its existing undulated topography (consisting of both plain & hillock) with green trees and other vegetations. M/s. Rajkhowa’s Aarchi, a renowned Architectural firm of the city was engaged as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for preparation of DPR, Project supervision & monitoring. The PMC had prepared the DPR at an estimated cost of ₹ 14.81 Crores and upon receipt of A.A. from Govt., necessary T.S. was accorded by P.W.D.(Building works ). Subsequently, after following necessary bidding process, one M/s. NIRMAN was awarded the contract of main civil & electrical works of the project on 6th August, 2021, they being the lowest bidder. The stipulated period of project completion of the project was 1 (one) year, i.e. till 31st July, 2022.
