Background:

Silpukhuri Park is one of Guwahati's prominent urban green spaces, serving as a popular recreational destination for residents and visitors. To preserve its ecological and recreational value while meeting the growing needs of the city, the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) undertook the Development of Silpukhuri Park project. The initiative aimed to revitalize the existing park by upgrading its infrastructure, improving public amenities, enhancing safety, and creating an attractive, accessible, and environmentally sustainable recreational space. The redevelopment has transformed the park into a modern public space that caters to children, families, senior citizens, walkers, and visitors of all age groups. The project has significantly enhanced the park's aesthetics, functionality, and user experience, while contributing to the beautification of Guwahati and promoting sustainable urban development.
